How to setup IE6 in Vista

  1. Download:

Virtual PC 2007 – emulates another computer on the same OS.

Image file of Windows XP SP2 – there are IE6 and devtoolbar.

  2. Install Virtual PC, with help of wizard choose file of Windows XP SP2 image.

  3. Only network connection left to setup. It’s the most tricky part.

This article, can be helpful. But I tell about my experience with setup.

In the network settings of WinXP set the same as in the host OS (Vista) except ip address. Virtual OS should have own ip and can navigate in the local network.

Then go to IE -> Internet options -> Connections -> LAN settings And uncheck Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections).

That’s all, now internet should work.
